Settings and Features

The stopwatch can be adapted to virtually all applications via numerous adjustment options:

Screen

  • Font, font colour, font style, background colour, colour of flashing lettering
  • Font size: Drag the watch to any desired size and page ratio
  • Select whether the watch should always be the top window
  • Screen layout, e.g. Windows or Mac look, as desired
  • Concealment of the desktop with a colour or any desired image
  • Transparent view if desired. Only the numerals without the watch window are displayed here (no header bar, menu line, operating elements or status line).

Time Display

  • Display with tenths, hundredths or thousandths of a second, as desired
  • Display in decimal mode (tenths/hundredths/thousandths) or in 25 ms increments (optimized for video recordings)
  • or without an hour display and any desired number of digits in the hour display

Functions

  • One-off function once a selected time has been reached:
    • Show message window
    • Shut down Windows
    • Signal to the serial interface (e.g. to trigger an external component)
    • Play any desired sound file
    • Start any desired program or open a document
  • Flash when any set time is reached
  • Watch stops at 00:00 (the watch normally keeps running)
  • Speech time announcement
  • Copy time automatically to the clipboard when watch reaches "Stop"
  • Copy time automatically to the clipboard at .Interim Time.

Adjustable key combinations available throughout the system to control the watch

  • Starting and stopping of the watch
  • Resetting to the initial time
  • Switching to transparent or standard view
  • Recording of interim times

Autostart

  • Start watch automatically at a selectable time when Windows is started
  • Target countdown: Stipulation of the end date/time and starting of the watch as a countdown counter until it reaches the final time of 00:00.

Serial Interface

  • The watch can be controlled via signals from the serial interface, such as those from a light barrier. If the PC does not have a serial interface, a conventional USB serial adapter can be used. You can start and stop the watch via the serial interface, take interim times and reset it. You are at complete liberty here to set a noise level-dependent control (e.g. the watch runs when a signal is given and stops when there is no signal) or a rise/fall control (watch starts/stops with the transition from no signal to signal).
  • In addition to this, the watch can issue a signal on its condition to the serial interface e.g. signal to DTR pin at Start or Stop. You can control other devices connected via the serial interface in this way.

Noise Control

  • Connect a microphone to your PC and control the watch by making noises into the microphone: start and stop the watch and take interim times as a one-off or repeated occurrence. You have the option here of activating the switching of the watch when a selectable noise level is exceeded or not reached.

Profiles

  • All watch settings can be saved in up to 10 different profiles.
  • When the watch is started (in the Properties of the desktop link, for example) you can stipulate the profile and therefore the settings with which the watch is to be started

Miscellaneous Settings

  • Reset of the watch without an entry window but with a preset value
  • Release key for the watch control (watch is locked as long as the release key is not activated). It can be selected here whether the release of the watch is reset automatically at "Stop".
  • Blocking of the watch control for a specified period. This means that the watch cannot be operated for a certain length of time after Start/Stop or an interim time. In this way, rebounding contacts or multiple activations with .perforated. objects can be tolerated effectively.
  • Transfer of time to clipboard in Excel-compatible form
  • Watch always starts automatically from 00:00 (no resetting required)

Controlling the watch from other programs

  • The stopwatch can be controlled from other programs, such as Word or Excel macros, via the COM/OLE interface.
